What is Coastal – Port Construction Services?
They are structures built on the seashore and used to control maritime traffic, coastal erosion and other natural phenomena. These structures are necessary for docking, loading and unloading of ships, shelter of fishermen and recreation of the public.
Coastal – Port Structures Categories
- Pier; These are structures used to dock ships and load and unload passengers, cargo and other cargo. Piers are constructed from materials such as concrete, steel or wood.
- Fisher Shelter;These are structures used to house and protect fishermen’s boats. Fishing shelters can be enclosed or semi-open areas protected by breakwaters.
- Walking Path; These are structures used for recreational activities such as walking, jogging and cycling on the seashore. Walking paths are built from materials such as concrete and asphalt.
- Dock; They are flat structures above sea level that continue along the coastline, which is generally concrete, built for docking of ships and loading and unloading activities.
- Breakwater; These are structures used to reduce the energy of waves, protect marine vessels or structures in ports and beaches, and prevent coastal erosion.
- Boathouse; These are areas sloping from water to land, used for the maintenance and repair of boats. It is usually constructed from concrete or steel.
- Phanar; Lighthouses are used to guide ships. It is usually found in ports and capes.
- Reinforced Concrete Structures; Reinforced concrete is a building material formed by combining concrete and steel reinforcement. Using these two materials together combines the durability of concrete and the strength of steel, resulting in strong and durable structures that can be used in a wide variety of applications.
- Field Concrete; They are concrete slabs used in ports, shipyards, shipbuilding facilities and other maritime facilities.
- Retaining Wall; These are structures used to support slopes, shorelines and other structures.
- Concrete Scaffolding; It is a type of scaffolding used for many different purposes in ports, marinas, shipyards and recreation areas.
